What Is The Skeletron Prime

Skeletron Prime is a Hardmode mechanical boss in Terraria, serving as an upgraded version of Skeletron. It features multiple limbs with different attacks, including melee, ranged, and spinning abilities, making it a challenging fight in Hardmode. Defeating Skeletron Prime is necessary to progress further, as it unlocks new crafting options and paves the way to later stages of the game.

Notable Drops:

  • Souls of Fright (used to craft powerful weapons and tools)
  • Hallowed Bars (essential for advanced gear crafting)
  • Skeletron Prime Mask and Trophy
  • Coins and other miscellaneous loot

How to Summon The Skeletron Prime

Mechanical Skull Method

This is the standard method for summoning the Skeletron Prime. The Mechanical Skull is a Hardmode summoning item crafted using materials available after entering Hardmode.

Required Materials:
  • 30 Bones: Dropped by enemies found in the Dungeon.
  • 5 Iron/Lead Bars: Crafted from Iron or Lead Ore at a Furnace.
  • 3 Souls of Light: Collected in the Underground Hallow biome by defeating enemies.
  • 3 Souls of Night: Obtained by defeating enemies in the Underground Corruption or Crimson biomes.

Craft the Mechanical Skull at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil and use it at night. Note, that the item cannot be used during the day, and summoning will fail if attempted outside nighttime.

Natural Spawn Method

The Skeletron Prime may also spawn naturally with a 1/10 (10%) chance at dusk after a Demon or Crimson Altar has been destroyed, provided it has not yet been defeated at least once in the current world.
