What Is The Destroyer?

The Destroyer is a Hardmode mechanical boss in Terraria, designed as a harder counterpart to the pre-Hardmode Eater of Worlds. This massive worm-like creature features multiple segments, each capable of firing lasers, and it summons Probe enemies to attack the player. Known for its high durability and overwhelming firepower, The Destroyer is a major obstacle in early Hardmode progression.

Notable Drops:

  • Souls of Might (used to craft powerful weapons and tools)
  • Hallowed Bars (essential for advanced gear crafting)
  • Destroyer Mask and Trophy
  • Coins and other miscellaneous loot

How To Summon The Destroyer

Mechanical Worm Method

This is the standard method for summoning The Destroyer. The Mechanical Worm is a Hardmode summoning item crafted using materials available after entering Hardmode.

Required Materials:
  • 6 Rotten Chunks (Corruption) or 6 Vertebrae (Crimson): Dropped by enemies in the respective biome.
  • 5 Iron/Lead Bars: Crafted from Iron or Lead Ore at a Furnace.
  • 6 Souls of Night: Obtained by defeating enemies in the Underground Corruption or Crimson biomes.

Craft the Mechanical Worm at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil and use it at night. Note, that the item cannot be used during the day, and summoning will fail if attempted outside nighttime.

Natural Spawn Method

The Destroyer may also spawn naturally with a 1/10 (10%) chance at dusk after a Demon or Crimson Altar has been destroyed, provided it has not yet been defeated at least once in the current world.
