Welcome to our Monkey Meadow guide on Alternate Bloons Rounds difficulty. This guide is designed to be easy to follow, with helpful tips and explanations of our decisions based on extensive BTD6 experience from our YouTube channel.
While you can use these features (especially Monkey Knowledge), this guide is designed to be as bulletproof as possible, so they are not required.
Note: This guide was recorded on BTD6 Patch 43.
Since this is the first map and you likely don't have many heroes unlocked, Quincy is a solid choice. He is the cheapest hero you can buy and is highly effective for most maps due to his low cost, early camo detection (before Round 24), and high MOAB damage.
Instructions: The round guide indicates when to make purchases. For example, "Round 3" means to buy at the end of Round 3, between Rounds 3 and 4, unless stated otherwise. We recommend disabling Auto Start for easier following.
The starting rounds of Alternate Bloons Rounds (ABR) mode can be rough since camo bloons appear early, but we still want to place our hero early for leveling up. We can afford to take a bit of damage in the first few rounds and buy a tower like the Ninja Monkey as soon as possible.
As mentioned, after buying Quincy, buy a Ninja Monkey as soon as you can.
In ABR mode, a Lead Bloon will appear as early as Round 10! That's why we need a tower like the Alchemist to destroy the Lead Bloon.
You can upgrade the Ninja Monkey to 2-0-1 earlier.
Round 24 can catch you off guard in ABR mode, as it features the first appearance of a Camo Lead Bloon. That's why we will get the Acidic Mixture Dip upgrade for the Alchemist, so the Ninja Monkey or Quincy (who by now has unlocked camo detection) can destroy the Camo Lead Bloon.
Let's continue upgrading the Alchemist and the Ninja Monkey to prepare for the MOAB in Round 40.
Although this guide doesn't require the use of abilities, we generally recommend using Quincy's ability in Round 40 when the MOAB gets close. However, it is not required.
The Semi-Automatic upgrade makes the Sniper Monkey really come alive.
Buy a Monkey Village and position it to buff all our other monkeys. Keep in mind that the Bigger Radius upgrade will help with that. Now we don't have to worry about camo detection anymore.
Round 50 contains 4 MOABs, so we need to ensure we have sufficient damage.
A fortified BFB is coming in Round 60, so we need to increase our damage. Additionally, we need to start preparing for the dangerous Round 63, which contains lots of Ceramics.
Note: Make sure the Glue Gunner is out of reach of the Alchemist but still in range of the Monkey Village. We want our Alchemist to buff the 2-0-5 Sniper as much as possible.
We don't really need the Ninja Monkey anymore; we need to prioritize raw damage.
The Maim MOAB upgrade for the Sniper Monkey is extremely powerful, especially for Rounds 79 (only in ABR mode) and 80 when ZOMGs will appear. It essentially renders ZOMGs completely immobile, allowing them to take continuous hits from our 2-0-5 Sniper.
Here is the full build used in this guide if you want to try to achieve it yourself.
