Welcome to our Monkey Meadow guide on Magic Monkeys Only difficulty. This guide is designed to be easy to follow, with helpful tips and explanations of our decisions based on extensive BTD6 experience from our YouTube channel.
While you can use these features (especially Monkey Knowledge), this guide is designed to be as bulletproof as possible, so they are not required.
Note: This guide was recorded on BTD6 Patch 43.
Since this is the first map and you likely don't have many heroes unlocked, Quincy is a solid choice. He is the cheapest hero you can buy and is highly effective for most maps due to his low cost, early camo detection (before Round 24), and high MOAB damage.
Instructions: The round guide indicates when to make purchases. For example, "Round 3" means to buy at the end of Round 3, between Rounds 3 and 4, unless stated otherwise. We recommend disabling Auto Start for easier following.
As mentioned, we are starting with Quincy, a reliable hero available at a very cheap price. His camo detection, when leveled up, will be very handy.
Once you have enough cash for a Ninja Monkey, buy it and place it in the corner of the track as illustrated to cover as much area as possible.
The Ninja Monkey combined with Quincy will easily carry you through the early game.
These upgrades will suffice until Round 28, when Lead Bloons appear, and we will need to prepare for them.
At this point, we are already prepared for Round 28 (Lead Bloons), as the Alchemist can pop Lead Bloons and buff both Quincy and the Ninja Monkey to destroy them with the Acidic Mixture Dip upgrade.
An upgraded Ninja Monkey combined with an Alchemist can handle a MOAB.
Make sure to place the Wizard Monkey just outside the range of the Alchemist's buff potions, as the Wizard Monkey won't benefit as much from them. We prefer the buffs on the Ninja Monkey.
The Necromancer upgrade for the Wizard Monkey is a solid mid-game choice to save money.
A Wizard Monkey with the Arcane Spike upgrade will be very effective for Round 50 and beyond to fight off MOABs. Place the Wizard Monkey next to the Ninja Monkey. It's recommended to manually place the Wall of Fire at the cross track of incoming and outgoing bloons to maximize its effectiveness.
Round 63 can be intimidating, as it is one of the hardest rounds until Round 100 due to a rush of Ceramic Bloons. A Jungle's Bounty Druid will help clear them out with its reach across the map.
Having an Archmage Wizard Monkey will easily secure the win for us. Of course, you can still buy extra towers toward Round 80 for an even easier win.
Here is the full build used in this guide if you want to try to achieve it yourself.
