Welcome to our Monkey Meadow guide on Half Cash difficulty. This guide is designed to be easy to follow, with helpful tips and explanations of our decisions based on extensive BTD6 experience from our YouTube channel.
While you can use these features (especially Monkey Knowledge), this guide is designed to be as bulletproof as possible, so they are not required.
Note: This guide was recorded on BTD6 Patch 43.
Since this is the first map and you likely don't have many heroes unlocked, Quincy is a solid choice. He is the cheapest hero you can buy and is highly effective for most maps due to his low cost, early camo detection (before Round 24), and high MOAB damage.
Instructions: The round guide indicates when to make purchases. For example, "Round 3" means to buy at the end of Round 3, between Rounds 3 and 4, unless stated otherwise. We recommend disabling Auto Start for easier following.
In Half Cash mode, we start with 325 cash, meaning we won't be able to begin with a hero. The cheapest heroes, Quincy and Sauda, are both viable for this difficulty. Typically, Half Cash is started by buying 2 to 3 Dart Monkeys and later selling them to afford a hero.
As stated, buy the second Dart Monkey as soon as you can.
You can sell 2 Dart Monkeys for 300 cash, so in between rounds, we can sell them and buy Quincy. It is essential to buy the hero as soon as possible so they can level up quickly. Quincy will obtain camo detection, double arrows, and explosive arrows faster.
Now let's buy a Boomerang Monkey and place it to the left of Quincy to cover as much area as possible. We will later upgrade it to Kylie Boomerang, which will deal damage in a straight line.
Let's continue with the Bomb Shooter for more versatility and high damage against Lead Bloons.
Rounds 28 and 30, which consist of Lead Bloons, are behind us. Now, let's focus on targeting the first bloons since we have the Cluster Bombs upgrade.
Although this guide doesn't require the use of abilities, we generally recommend using Quincy's ability in Round 40 when the MOAB gets close. However, it is not required.
This will give us camo detection, especially for the upcoming Round 42.
Camo detection from the Wizard Monkey can be unreliable since it works in periodic pulses. That's why we are going to get a Monkey Village for consistent camo detection and to buff our primary monkeys (Boomerang Monkey and Bomb Shooter).
Now we really have excellent camo detection.
Primary Training is a great upgrade if we are using Primary Monkeys. It increases their pierce, range, and projectile speed.
When in doubt, a Druid of the Jungle is always a great option. He provides excellent damage to bloons across the whole map but is quite weak against MOABs.
We are preparing for a 2-0-4 Ninja Monkey, which we will want to set to strong to target MOABs.
This upgrade will effectively double the impact of having a Druid of the Jungle, as he now spawns two vines at a time.
Now we are ready for the ZOMG with the help of Sticky Bombs from the Ninja Monkey.
Here is the full build used in this guide if you want to try to achieve it yourself.
