Guide Information

Welcome to our Monkey Meadow guide on Half Cash difficulty. This guide is designed to be easy to follow, with helpful tips and explanations of our decisions based on extensive BTD6 experience from our YouTube channel.

Requirements

  • No Monkey Knowledge needed
  • No use of Abilities
  • No use of Insta Towers

While you can use these features (especially Monkey Knowledge), this guide is designed to be as bulletproof as possible, so they are not required.

Note: This guide was recorded on BTD6 Patch 43.

Hero Selection

Since this is the first map and you likely don't have many heroes unlocked, Quincy is a solid choice. He is the cheapest hero you can buy and is highly effective for most maps due to his low cost, early camo detection (before Round 24), and high MOAB damage.

Round Guide

Instructions: The round guide indicates when to make purchases. For example, "Round 3" means to buy at the end of Round 3, between Rounds 3 and 4, unless stated otherwise. We recommend disabling Auto Start for easier following.

Round 3

  • Buy a Dart Monkey

In Half Cash mode, we start with 325 cash, meaning we won't be able to begin with a hero. The cheapest heroes, Quincy and Sauda, are both viable for this difficulty. Typically, Half Cash is started by buying 2 to 3 Dart Monkeys and later selling them to afford a hero.

Round 4

  • Buy a Dart Monkey

As stated, buy the second Dart Monkey as soon as you can.

Round 4: Buy a second Dart Monkey

Round 7

  • Sell both Dart Monkeys
  • Buy Quincy

You can sell 2 Dart Monkeys for 300 cash, so in between rounds, we can sell them and buy Quincy. It is essential to buy the hero as soon as possible so they can level up quickly. Quincy will obtain camo detection, double arrows, and explosive arrows faster.

Round 10

  • Buy a Boomerang Monkey

Now let's buy a Boomerang Monkey and place it to the left of Quincy to cover as much area as possible. We will later upgrade it to Kylie Boomerang, which will deal damage in a straight line.

Round 12

  • Upgrade the Boomerang Monkey to 0-1-0

Round 14

  • Upgrade the Boomerang Monkey to 0-2-0

Round 18

  • Upgrade the Boomerang Monkey to 0-2-2

Round 22

  • Buy a Bomb Shooter (make sure the targeting is set to strong)

Let's continue with the Bomb Shooter for more versatility and high damage against Lead Bloons.

Round 26

  • Upgrade the Bomb Shooter to 0-0-2

Round 30

  • Upgrade the Bomb Shooter to 0-0-3 and set its targeting to First

Rounds 28 and 30, which consist of Lead Bloons, are behind us. Now, let's focus on targeting the first bloons since we have the Cluster Bombs upgrade.

Round 34

  • Upgrade the Bomb Shooter to 2-0-3

Round 37

  • Upgrade the Boomerang Monkey to 0-2-3

Round 39

  • Buy a Wizard Monkey and upgrade it to 0-1-2

Although this guide doesn't require the use of abilities, we generally recommend using Quincy's ability in Round 40 when the MOAB gets close. However, it is not required.

Round 39: Buy a Wizard Monkey and upgrade it to 0-1-2

Round 41

  • Upgrade the Wizard Monkey to 0-1-3

This will give us camo detection, especially for the upcoming Round 42.

Round 43

  • Upgrade the Wizard Monkey to 0-2-3

Round 47

  • Upgrade the Wizard Monkey to 0-2-4

Round 49

  • Buy a Monkey Village and upgrade it to 0-1-0
  • Upgrade the Boomerang Monkey to 0-2-4

Camo detection from the Wizard Monkey can be unreliable since it works in periodic pulses. That's why we are going to get a Monkey Village for consistent camo detection and to buff our primary monkeys (Boomerang Monkey and Bomb Shooter).

Round 49: Buy a Monkey Village and upgrade it to 0-1-0, then upgrade the Boomerang Monkey to 0-2-4

Round 53

  • Upgrade the Bomb Shooter to 2-0-4

Round 55

  • Upgrade the Monkey Village to 1-2-0

Now we really have excellent camo detection.

Round 58

  • Upgrade the Monkey Village to 3-2-0

Primary Training is a great upgrade if we are using Primary Monkeys. It increases their pierce, range, and projectile speed.

Round 62

  • Buy a Druid and upgrade it to 1-3-0

When in doubt, a Druid of the Jungle is always a great option. He provides excellent damage to bloons across the whole map but is quite weak against MOABs.

Round 66

  • Upgrade the Ninja Monkey to 2-0-3 and set its targeting to strong

We are preparing for a 2-0-4 Ninja Monkey, which we will want to set to strong to target MOABs.

Round 74

  • Upgrade the Druid to 2-4-0

This upgrade will effectively double the impact of having a Druid of the Jungle, as he now spawns two vines at a time.

Round 78

  • Upgrade the Ninja Monkey to 2-0-4

Now we are ready for the ZOMG with the help of Sticky Bombs from the Ninja Monkey.

Round 79

  • Upgrade the Monkey Village to 4-2-0
